Description:
The soils around the Slate Island Coast Guard Station buildings were impacted by lead-containing paint that had to be excavated and safely removed. The contaminated soils at each landfill were excavated, contained and transported to the constructed containment pad. The sealed soil bags were airlifted onto a barge and transported to the mainland for safe disposal at a facility.
