Jeffrey W. Clarke - CEO & Chairman

CEO & Chairman of Inflector Environmental Services, Jeff is responsible for developing high-level strategies, building strategic client relationships and leading the growth trajectory. nationally and beyond. Inflector has already seen exponential growth under Jeff’s leadership since 2014, emerging as one of Canada’s top environmental services provider and executing some of the largest-scale remediation projects in Canadian history. Inflector’s achievements have been recognized with numerous awards, including being a winner of Canada’s Best Managed Companies program for three consecutive years since 2022 and receiving a Keystone Award for job creation in Ottawa. Jeff credits much of Inflector’s success to the drive and passion of its over 500 dedicated employees, instilled by the progressive culture Jeff has worked hard to evolve.  

Jeff’s passion for the industry and community spans far beyond Inflector. He is a 2024 Board Member of the Ottawa Construction Association, supporting the needs and interests of trade contractors within Ottawa. Additionally, Jeff is a consistent supporter of various health, science, and youth foundations and initiatives in his community. Among these is the Ottawa Hospital Foundation, where he served on the Board from 2017 to 2022.   

Jeff’s ability to lead, impact and inspire others is widely recognized by key stakeholders and organizations across the industry. Jeff’s impact received national recognition as he was honoured as one of 2020 Canada’s Top 40 Under 40® and honoured as 2016 recipient of Forty under 40 by the Ottawa Business Journal and the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce.  

LAWRENCE TJAN - CFO

As the Chief Financial Officer at Inflector Environmental Services, Lawrence Tjan oversees the company’s administrative functions including finance, payroll, and information technology, as well as providing invaluable support to operations and corporate development. Lawrence has an extensive 30-year career in accounting, finance, compliance, and information systems having started his career at Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC), where he was part of consulting and financial advisory services groups.

Prior to joining Inflector, Lawrence held the position of Principal, Value Creation and Finance Operations at Fengate Private Equity. He was a key member of the team that managed Fengate’s investment in Inflector. Prior to joining Fengate, Lawrence was a consultant to various venture capital, private equity, and infrastructure investment firms, including Birch Hill Equity Partners and Bastion Infrastructure Group.

Matthew Rinfret - COO & President, Canada East

Matthew Rinfret, our Chief Operating Officer and President, Canada East, is a seasoned professional in the Canadian construction industry and plays a major role in the continued growth and operational excellence of Inflector across Canada. As COO, Matt is responsible in advancing operational efficiency and spearheading strategic initiatives.

With a distinguished 25-year career in the Canadian construction industry, Matt brings a wealth of experience. His impressive background includes a notable 17-year tenure with a major Canadian General Contractor, where he ascended from Project Manager to Construction Manager, Project Director, and Operations Manager. Matt oversaw operations and large-scale projects in the Ottawa and Montreal regions, showcasing expertise in contract negotiations, construction scheduling, claims management, and project leadership.

Matt holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Civil Engineering) from the University of Ottawa and a Master’s in Engineering (Construction Management) from the University of British Columbia. Matt is a recipient of the Ottawa regions’ Top 40 under 40 award (2014). Matt’s comprehensive market assessment, accomplishments, and forward-thinking approach make him a valued member of our leadership and key asset in driving the company’s vision forward.

GORDON CUDNEY - Chief Development Officer

As Chief Development Officer, Gordon Cudney leads our mergers and acquisitions team. He is responsible for executing Inflector’s growth strategy by way of the acquisition (and subsequent integration) of targets across Canada.

Prior to joining Inflector, Gordon was an equity partner at Gowling WLG specializing in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, secured transactions and business succession planning.

Gordon has a BAH in Political History from Queen’s University, a Master’s degree from the University of Ottawa and his LLB from Dalhousie University.

In 2017, Gordon was honored with the Ottawa Business Journal and Ottawa Chamber of Commerce Forty Under 40 award for his outstanding dedication to his work and impactful contributions to the community. Serving as Past-Chair of the Board of the Royal Ottawa Foundation for Mental Health from 2018 to 2021, he received the prestigious Inspiration Award (the Foundation’s highest honour) in 2018 for his exemplary leadership and advocacy in mental health. Additionally, in 2004, Gordon demonstrated his commitment to philanthropy by playing and walking 12 rounds of golf in a single day, averaging 83.6 strokes per round and raising $60,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society in honour of his late mother, Sheila.

CHRISTIAN DOVER - President, Canada West

Christian Dover was appointed President, Canada West at Inflector Environmental Services in August 2024. In this role, Christian oversees operations across Western Canada, from British Columbia to the Greater Toronto Area, with a focus on strategic growth and delivering exceptional environmental services.

With decades of experience in the construction industry, Christian has led businesses that contribute to critical infrastructure development in both Canada and the United States. His expertise spans a wide range of projects, including industrial, commercial, institutional, and heavy civil construction. Prior to joining Inflector, Christian held senior leadership positions as Chief Operating Officer and President at Limen Group and as President and CEO of Green Infrastructure Partners, where he successfully integrated multiple divisions and achieved significant growth.

Christian’s leadership and vision will be instrumental in Inflector’s continued expansion, ensuring the company delivers safe and successful projects while maintaining strong relationships with its growing customer base.

CLAUDIO BELLI - VP & Area Manager, GTA

As the Vice President and Area Manager of the Inflector Greater Toronto Area division, Claudio Belli is responsible for the management of all operations within GTA including pursuits, procurement and execution on large, high-value projects.

Claudio brings over 13 years of construction experience to the Inflector team, having worked with Canada’s largest general contractor in an array of roles from field engineer, superintendent and project superintendent. He played a pivotal role in the execution of multiple landmark projects including the Archives of Ontario, Ryerson School of Image Arts, Ripley’s Aquarium and the KPMG and PWC Towers. Claudio has expertise in construction logistics, planning, scheduling and execution, and is an innovative problem solver who excels while completing complex projects.

Claudio holds a Construction Management Degree from George Brown College, is a Gold Seal Certified Superintendent and has been the recipient of multiple industry recognition awards. His client-focused approach has allowed him to establish, nurture and cultivate lasting relationships with numerous industry partners. He is a dynamic and committed leader who fosters collaboration by building trust and facilitating relationships with those involved in every project he takes on.

MICHAEL SIMMONS - VP & Area Manager, Eastern Ontario

Conducting the preparation and execution of field operations for the Ottawa, Kingston, and other regions across Canada, Mike is a demonstrated professional in the construction industry with 19+ years of experience. In addition to his work in field operations, he collaborates with GTA on large-scale projects. Commencing his professional journey as a field worker at 18, Mike ascended through the organizational ranks, exemplifying that success is attainable through unwavering dedication, industrious effort, and a positive attitude. Prior to his role with Inflector, Mike had a successful career as an operations manager, foreman and superintendent with a specialization in the demolition and abatement field.

Mike’s renowned abilities to build successful teams, strong relationships and successfully manage projects, with over 3,000 projects under his belt, makes him a valued member of the Inflector team. Overseeing high-value projects like the Western University Hospital in London, Chatham Kent General Hospital, Health Science North Hospital in Sudbury, Bank of Canada and GCC the Senate of Canada Building in Ottawa, Glencore Thayer Lindsley Mine, Marathon Pulp and Papermill, Iroquois Falls Pulp and Papermill and Glencore Smelter Acid Plant in Sudbury, Mike is an exemplary leader with Inflector.

DANIEL CHISHOLM - VP & Area Manager, Atlantic Canada

As the Vice President and Area Manager for the Inflector, Atlantic Canada division, Dan is responsible for operations, project management and talent acquisition as well as other aspects of the daily business life cycle.

Dan holds a Business of Commerce degree and a diploma in Construction Management which have facilitated his commitment to remaining current with the ever-evolving construction industry.

Dan has successfully executed construction projects with Canada’s largest general contractor in both field and management roles, working in industry sectors including hospitals, universities, sports stadiums, airports, manufacturing, utility companies and commercial spaces. Recent projects include asbestos abatement for Maritime Electric, Dartmouth General Hospital, Ward Shipman Library, Mount Allison Harper Hall and Province House Charlotte Town.

Dan offers solution-based leadership to the Inflector team through his positive attitude and deep knowledge of his field.

KRISTIE EBERHARDT - VP, Estimating & Project Controls

Kristie Eberhardt, our Vice President of Estimating & Project Controls, brings over two decades of exemplary experience to the Inflector team. Joining us in 2021 as a Senior Estimator, she swiftly ascended to her current leadership role. Kristie has played pivotal roles in complex projects, including the Centre Block Rehabilitation in Ottawa. Her versatility and dedication shine through as she leads the national estimating teams and reviews project estimates across the regions.

Kristie’s proven success as a Project Controls Manager with a global EP&C leader, then serving as a Senior Estimating Manager for a global design, manufacturing and construction company of water rides, and later transitioning between industries to contribute her skills to a global consulting firm, highlights her exceptional abilities in cost management, construction cost control, and forecasting. Her leadership in establishing and refining estimating departments showcases her commitment to excellence. As a longstanding member of AACE International, with a results-driven approach and a focus on growth, Kristie ensures that our estimating practice aligns with the highest standards.

XAVIER CIFUENTES - VP, Health & Safety

Xavier Cifuentes is a Ryerson University Alumnus, having obtained his Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Health and Safety. Xavier has worked in a variety of construction sectors including Heavy Civil and ICI. He is a Canadian Registered Safety Professional and currently leads Inflector Environmental Services’ safety initiatives as Vice President of Occupational Health and Safety. Xavier is a firm believer in continuous education and has completed additional post-graduate certificates in risk management, internal auditing, and building information modeling. His success in the field has largely relied on a people-centric approach to health and safety.

MARC CHAUVIN - VP, Special Projects

Marc Chauvin is the VP of Special Projects for Inflector Environmental Services. Marc oversees large scale projects including Commercial, Industrial, Health Care, Sports & Entertainment, Transit & Infrastructure and Residential.

Marc has over 30 years extensive experience in the construction industry in both Public and Private sectors.  His strengths are in estimating and project management for general construction including; civil, structural, architectural and design build projects with both conventional and pre-engineered systems. Marc also has extensive knowledge in scheduling, management and field coordination.  Marc is an innovative problem solver who enjoys the challenges of complex projects.  His determination and fortitude ensure each project is completed on time and on budget.  

 

Marc is accredited with a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and a member of the Project Management Institute. 

DAVID WALSH - Director, Field Operations

As the Director of Field Operations, Canada David Walsh is responsible for the execution of all aspects of the organization’s hazmat operations nationwide.

David’s expertise in the construction industry comes from a career spanning over 30 years, overseeing more than 10,000 projects. He holds numerous certifications in hazardous materials handling and project management, with international experience running multimillion-dollar projects including the largest single asbestos abatement project awarded in Canada, the R.L. Hearn Thermal Generation Station in Toronto.

ROBERT MACDONALD - Senior Director, Atlantic Canada

Rob MacDonald is an industry professional in the abatement and environmental contracting sector of construction, with over 32 years’ experience in the field. Over the three decades he has been building his career, Rob has worked a plethora of roles at different levels, from on-site superintendent to project management and estimating and overall management. In 2005, Rob started EnviroBate Inc. as the Co-Owner and worked as President up until 2022.

Rob joined the Inflector team as Senior Director after years of providing trusted clients with consistent delivery of on-time and on-budget projects in a respectable and professional manner. He holds a reputation in the industry as a strong leader who promotes fairness and integrity, which has led to his professional success in the construction industry primarily in the Atlantic Canada region.

JOHN ALLAN - Area Manager, New Brunswick

John Allan joins the Inflector team as Area Manager for New Brunswick, with over 25 years’ experience in the industry. His work experience includes a variety of different roles, from foreman and superintendent to project manager, in all areas of the environmental and demolition industry. He has hands-on experience working in asbestos removal, mould remediation, heavy metals remediation, infection control and interior demolition. In addition to this hands-on experience, John is also well versed in tendering, negotiation and completing projects of all sizes.

John is known in the industry as a friendly and professional leader, upholding values in strong client satisfaction. His professional growth and development into his current role with Inflector is due, in large part, to his dedication to developing his skills and knowledge within the industry. He is a valued addition to the Inflector team.

ROBERT HAGERMAN - Area Manager, Kingston

As Vice President and District Manager for Inflector Environmental Services, Kingston, Rob oversees all aspects of the Kingston office, associated with day-to-day business functions. He has an educational background in Behavioural Sciences and Engineering Technology with extensive field and managerial expertise in hazardous materials, interior demolition, passive fire, and emergency response contamination clean up.

 

Bringing 20 years construction experience, working at all levels throughout his career from Field Supervisor, Project manager, Estimator and District Manager working safely in commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential sectors. Rob specializes in projects relating to power generation, health care, military, and educational facilities. He is determined and known to thrive in demanding and challenging environments. Approaching all projects with a strategic focus, a strong work ethic, and effective teamwork skills, while creating a clear path to success.

Deian Kutev - Director

As a Senior Member of Fengate Private Equity, Deian Kutev is predominantly responsible for sourcing, executing, and managing targeted investment opportunities within North America. Notable prior transactions include Ecotex Healthcare Linen Services, Cricket Energy, eStruxture Data Centers, York1, GraceMed, and Inflector Environmental Services. Mr. Kutev currently serves on the board of GraceMed and Inflector, and previously served as a board member of Ecotex.

Mr. Kutev joined Fengate in 2015 and helped establish the firm’s private equity business in 2016 alongside the current Group Head. Prior to joining Fengate, he held several investment banking roles at TD Securities in both Toronto and Vancouver where he focused on M&A, capital raising, and relationship management across a variety of industries. Prior to TD, Deian worked at GrowthWorks Capital.

Mr. Kutev is a CFA Charterholder and holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours from the University of British Columbia.

Jason Rosset - Director

As the newest board member, Jason will guide the company’s strategic direction and expanding its innovative approaches to environmental remediation. His extensive experience and expertise in advanced remediation technologies will support Inflector’s mission to deliver effective, long-term solutions for environmental challenges.

Jason is the CEO of a Family Office focused on private lending, venture capital, and private equity. He currently serves as the Chairman of Sluyter, a chemical and adhesive manufacturer, an advisor at Emergent Waste Solutions Inc., and a board member at Da-Lee Group. As the founder of Accuworx and Sure Horizon Environmental, now part of GFL, Jason has established himself as a leader in the environmental services industry.

Throughout his career, Jason has been recognized for his innovative approach to environmental contamination and remediation. His expertise in engineered solutions to eradicate contamination and protect public health has made significant impacts in the industry. He has collaborated with various public and private stakeholders on best practices and policy, pioneering new remedial technologies.
