About the Position

Reporting to the Regional Manager for Donalco, this position offers the successful candidate a unique opportunity to apply their costing and estimating skills on a diverse range of project scopes in a rapidly growing organization, while playing a key role in supporting team deliverables as the business expands and continues to outpace and outperform in the industry. The estimator will have the opportunity to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders daily, including liaising with clients, and collaborating with internal team members. This role has an estimated start date in October 2026.

Responsibilities:

• Take ownership for efficiently leading the entire completion of complex bid processes
• Interpret client contracts and analyze complex drawings and specifications including architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings
• Assemble accurate, well-organized estimates on time following proper processes and procedures with materials and equipment required for job completion
• Support databases including labour rates, material pricing, and project costs
• Distribute sub-trade quotes to personnel
• Coordinate with project managers, operations, as well as other project team members to resolve any technical issues throughout the planning and development, negotiation, and execution of contracts
• Continue to monitor project success throughout, noting potential challenges
• Flag areas of concern and coordinate with management to accommodate any risk within the bid price
• Build relationships with sub-trades and clients for future opportunities
• Scheduling and attending job showings, site visits, and client meetings as required
• Participate in presentation of estimates/proposals to senior management
• Other duties as assigned

Experience, Skills & Competencies:

• Proven experience (2-3 years) in estimating or a related field within the construction industry.
• Estimating experience in the construction sector is considered an asset.
• Experience within the fireproofing industry is considered an asset.
• Proficient ability to understand tender specifications and documentation to prepare estimates that properly reflect scope of work.
• Experience with different estimation software is considered an asset.
• Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and re-prioritize as necessary.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and time management.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
• Professional manner and excellent communication interpersonal skills to bridge gaps and build relationships with various internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficient English-language skills, French bilingualism considered an asset.
• Valid driver’s license
• Valid Canadian residency and/or work permit

About the Position

We are seeking a motivated and organized Health and Safety Manager to enhance our Health & Safety Program across Toronto. This role is central to driving safety excellence, embodying safety leadership through robust communication, collaborative efforts, and innovative strategies aimed at nurturing a culture of safety excellence. The Health & Safety Manager will have a broad scope, overseeing health and safety activities across various projects, including implementing prevention strategies, safety reporting, risk assessments, and conducting detailed audits.
With a specific focus on the GTA area, the role demands strategic planning and stakeholder engagement to elevate safety practices. Responsibilities also extend to leading safety committees and orchestrating site visits to affirm compliance with safety standards and foster a proactive safety environment. Through dedicated leadership, this position plays a crucial role in reinforcing our commitment to health and safety, creating a secure working environment for all employees by proactively identifying hazards and implementing comprehensive safety measures.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee Inflector’s representation on matters of health and safety with clients, provincial bodies, and regulatory agencies, ensuring the company’s interests and compliance are effectively communicated and upheld.
• Develop and update health & safety policies and procedures in alignment with current occupational health & safety regulations, standards, and best practices within the industry, specifically tailored to Inflector’s scope of work.
• Direct and supervise regular inspections at project and construction sites to ensure adherence to health and safety standards.
• Lead the development and implementation of project specific hazard assessments on worksites, providing expert advice to construction and project managers on mitigating risks and addressing areas of concern.
• Oversee and conduct thorough investigations of accidents, incidents, and near misses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Chair the Joint Occupational Health & Safety (JOHS) committee, setting agendas, ensuring the follow-up of action items, and fostering a culture of safety within the organization.
• Coordinate and manage travel for health and safety oversight to job locations in the GTA, ensuring comprehensive coverage and support across projects.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive safety documentation strategy, leveraging tools like SiteDocs for efficient audit trails, maintenance, and preparation of safety documentation.
• Strategically manage resources, including the procurement and maintenance of office/warehouse first aid supplies, fire extinguishers, and personal protective equipment, ensuring readiness and compliance across all locations.
• Lead the ISO audit for Toronto, driving improvements and ensuring Inflector’s continuous compliance and recognition in safety excellence.
• Oversee the filing of Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) claims, ensuring timely and accurate submissions and advocating for the organization and its employees.
• Analyze, interpret, and report on safety trends on a monthly and quarterly basis within the GTA divison, providing insights and strategic direction to senior management for continuous safety improvement.
• Direct the design and delivery of new employee safety orientation programs, ensuring comprehensive understanding and compliance with Inflector’s Health & Safety Program across all levels of the organization.
• Ensure company wide compliance with Inflector’s Health & Safety Program, leading by example and instituting a culture of continuous improvement in health and safety practices.
• Execute strategic leadership and administrative oversight on all matters relating to Health & Safety, including the development of long-term safety strategies, budgeting for safety initiatives, and representing the company in external safety forums.
• Perform additional management level duties as required to maintain and enhance the health and safety culture within Inflector, including strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and leadership in safety excellence initiatives.

Experience, Skills & Competencies:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a Health & Safety Coordinator or HSE Manager Role in the construction field.
• Detailed knowledge and understanding of regulatory standards that apply to Inflector’s work and the construction industry.
• Safety designations such as Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP), National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO), National Health & Safety Administrator (NHSA), Construction Safety Specialist (CSS) considered a strong asset.
• Other certifications such as WHMIS, First Aid, Asbestos Awareness and Fall Protection considered an asset.
• Demonstrated conflict resolution skills, problem solving abilities, and professional judgment.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power point, etc.
• English required, Spanish is considered an asset.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Self driven and motivated. Must be willing and able to take initiative.
• Enthusiastic team player with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities:

• Provide overall leadership, contract administration, technical expertise, and accountability for the successful delivery of large and complex construction projects, as well as multiple smaller projects.
• Be accountable for overall project performance, including safety, quality, schedule, budget, and profitability, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Own project financial performance, including cost control, forecasting, billing, collections, change management, and profitability.
• Identify, assess, price, negotiate, and manage change orders, extras, claims, delays, and potential disputes throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review project scopes, specifications, and contract requirements to identify scope gaps, exclusions, risks, and opportunities prior to contract award.
• Perform ongoing risk management, forecasting, and financial analysis to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions proactively.
• Manage relationships with clients, client representatives, consultants, trade contractors, and other project stakeholders to ensure effective communication and successful project delivery.
• Oversee and coordinate internal resources, subcontractors, and third-party vendors to support the execution of complex projects and achieve project objectives.
• Monitor production and review the performance of assigned resources to ensure time, cost, quality, and productivity objectives are achieved.
• Oversee the development, implementation, and ongoing management of project-specific safety plans and requirements.
• Establish and maintain effective project procedures, document control, reporting, and administrative processes.
• Provide leadership and insight in support of corporate objectives, operational initiatives, and continuous improvement.
• Maintain ongoing professional development to remain current with emerging technologies, industry practices, construction methods, and regulatory requirements.

Experience, Skills & Competencies:

• Minimum 6+ years’ experience within the construction industry as Project Manager or equivalent;
• Post Secondary degree or diploma in engineering or a construction related field is considered an asset;
• Experience within the hazardous material industry considered an asset;
• Demonstrated knowledge and application of safety principles, procedures, and legislation;
• Ability to problem solve and exercise professional judgment;
• Demonstrated experience in leading effective project meetings with customers, consultants, and internal employees;
• Demonstrated experience in leading and managing team members;
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal;
• Excellent organizational and time management skills;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other operational systems as required;
• Project management accreditations considered an asset: such as GSC, PMP, PMI
• Must be able to obtain security clearance
• Must have valid driver’s license
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
