This position is for experienced technicians in an industrial construction environment, specializing in spray-applied fireproofing (mineral fiber, cementitious, monoglass, and sonoglass), intumescent coatings, and firestopping applications.


Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the setup and operation of equipment used for fireproofing, such as sprayers and pumps
  • Mixing and applying fireproofing materials according to manufacturer guidelines and project requirements
  • Working collaboratively with team members to achieve project goals efficiently and safely
  • Adhering to all safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the work area

Qualifications / Experience

As a General Laborer & Abatement Technician, you will be responsible for demolition, remediation, and abatement work, ensuring compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations, company policies, and procedures.

About the Position

Reporting to the Regional Manager for Donalco, this position offers the successful candidate a unique opportunity to apply their costing and estimating skills on a diverse range of project scopes in a rapidly growing organization, while playing a key role in supporting team deliverables as the business expands and continues to outpace and outperform in the industry. The estimator will have the opportunity to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders daily, including liaising with clients, and collaborating with internal team members. This role has an estimated start date in October 2026.

Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership for efficiently leading the entire completion of complex bid processes
  • Interpret client contracts and analyze complex drawings and specifications including architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings
  • Assemble accurate, well-organized estimates on time following proper processes and procedures with materials and equipment required for job completion
  • Support databases including labour rates, material pricing, and project costs
  • Distribute sub-trade quotes to personnel
  • Coordinate with project managers, operations, as well as other project team members to resolve any technical issues throughout the planning and development, negotiation, and execution of contracts
  • Continue to monitor project success throughout, noting potential challenges
  • Flag areas of concern and coordinate with management to accommodate any risk within the bid price
  • Build relationships with sub-trades and clients for future opportunities
  • Scheduling and attending job showings, site visits, and client meetings as required
