About the Position
We are seeking a Project Safety Manager to join our team of demolition and abatement experts. This position is ideal for someone looking for the next step in their career in health and safety, who has previous experience within the construction industry. As a Project Safety Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures, as well as identifying and mitigating potential hazards in the workplace.
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with applicable regulations and company policies.
• Plan and deliver new and returning worker safety orientations.
• Facilitate and deliver quantitative fit testing.
• Conduct COR internal audits across various business units.
• Assist in filing worker compensation claims.
• Analyze and report monthly and quarterly safety statistics.
• Assist, complete, and review project specific hazard assessments and work plans.
• Advise on health and safety suggestions and concerns.
• Conduct regular safety inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
• Monitor and evaluate workplace health and safety performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Provide health and safety training to employees and contractors.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and develop and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of health and safety activities, trainings, and incidents.
• Liaise with regulatory agencies, as required.
• Other Duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• 3-5 years’ experience in Health & Safety, and construction industry experience would be an asset.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving abstract.
• Must be able to obtain a Secret Level Security Clearance.
• CRSP/NCSO certifications preferred.
• Willingness to travel to visit projects and job sites.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

We are seeking a General Laborer & Abatement Technician to join our team of demolition and environmental abatement experts. This position is ideal for someone who is looking to start an exciting career within the construction industry. As a General Laborer & Abatement Technician, you will be responsible for demolition, remediation and abatement work ensuring compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations, company policies, and procedures.
Inflector provides an outstanding package including union wages, benefits, and pension. The position is full-time – 44 hours/week with jobs located within Ottawa, the Ottawa Valley and Kingston.
Responsibilities
• Hazardous material containment and clean-up.
• Asbestos removal/abatement.
• Asbestos abatement projects in a variety of industrial and residential work environments.
• Mold remediation
• Lead abatement.
• Follow company policies for removal procedures to ensure safety.
• Communicate with other employees and lead teams of proper handling of these hazardous waste according to guidelines and compliance.
• Other Duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHIMIS) and knowledge in hazardous materials abatement and remediation preferred.
• Construction industry experience would be an asset.
• Able to obtain a Secret Level Security Clearance an asset.
